Queensland Maritime Museum - Powering QMM

Queensland Maritime Museum - Powering QMM Main Image

Queensland Maritime Museum(QMM) would like to replace the 11 year old and non-energy efficient air conditioner in our Chart and Photo Room of our Library and install a new energy efficient Reverse Cycle Inverter Wall Mounted Split System. Not only will replacing these items greatly assist QMM to improve our energy efficiency practices and technologies, reduce our energy consumption, carbon emissions and electricity bills; but, more efficient air conditioning and LED lights will also assist to preserve our nationally significant historical maritime collection. The new CO2 Hot Water System will use 80% less energy than our current electric one. The carbon abatement from replacing 127 LED light bulbs alone will minimise greenhouse gas by almost 63 tons, which will greatly reduce our carbon footprint, bring positive benefits to the environment and in the long term reduce financial costs to the community.
