I was a Shadow Parliamentary Secretary, then Shadow Assistant Minister, and now Shadow Minister from October 2015. I am presently the Shadow Minister for Young Australians and Youth Affairs, and Shadow Minister for Employment Services, Workforce Participation and Future of Work. I was previously Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Family Violence Prevention, Shadow Assistant Minister for Preventing Family Violence, Shadow Assistant Minister for Universities, and Shadow Assistant Minister for Equality. Griffith women and lower income workers will benefit from new measures to increase their superannuation balances with a Shorten Labor Government investing $400 million to help close the super gap. On average, women retire with $113,000 less in their super than men – 40 percent less. Reports in the Australian Financial Review today that kindy funding is under threat reveal that the the Turnbull government is completely out-of-touch. Under Malcolm Turnbull and the Liberals, federal funding for kindy was due to run out at the end of this year. Now, they've extended the funding, but only to the end of 2019.Read More
